SIKALASTIC® -625 BMS: SIKA®’S NEW SUSTAINABLE ROOF MEMBRANE WITH 35% REDUCED CARBON EMISSIONS
Sika® is excited to announce the launch of Sikalastic®-625 BMS, an innovative polyurethane liquid applied membrane (LAM) for flat roofs that emphasises sustainable chemical innovation. This advanced product reduces carbon emissions by over 35%, supporting a greener construction industry while maintaining high performance.
Sikalastic®-625 BMS is a flexible, seamless waterproofing solution made from biomass-balanced content and bio-based solvents. It is a single-component, cold-applied, moisture-activated membrane that cures quickly into a durable, weather-resistant barrier. With minimal odour and enhanced safety features, it represents a perfect blend of technology and sustainability.
Michelle Round, Technology Centre Manager at Sika, emphasises the significance of this launch:
“Sikalastic®-625 BMS marks a transformative step towards net zero, helping customers reduce their roof waterproofing carbon footprint while signalling a demand for sustainable solutions in the supply chain.”
Developed through extensive research, Sikalastic®-625 BMS meets the industry’s growing need for low-carbon alternatives by integrating renewable materials and utilising biomass balance technology. This allows for significant emissions reductions without compromising durability.
In addition to its sustainability benefits, the membrane is non-flammable and low-odour, making it suitable for sensitive environments such as hospitals and schools. Certified by the British Board of Agrément (BBA) and TÜV Rheinland for its carbon footprint, Sikalastic®-625 BMS offers architects, builders, and contractors a reliable and eco-friendly roofing solution.
