THE PALLET LOOP is proud to announce that Barratt Redrow, the UK’s largest housebuilder, is rolling out its pallet collection service nationwide.
The move, which builds on Barratt Redrow’s historical pallet re-use eĪorts, comes as the number of green LOOP pallets entering the building materials supply chain increases weekon-week and has surpassed one million pallets issued to date. Every year, Barratt Redrow accepts delivery of hundreds of thousands of pallets carrying core building materials.
The business has always tried to dispose of pallets responsibly. Historically, any large plasterboard pallets received from British Gypsum were returned via the plaster manufacturer’s old pallet return service—which has now been superseded by The Pallet LOOP.
Now, all pallets delivered to Barratt Redrow sites (white and green), which are suitable for re-use, will be returned to The Pallet LOOP— with all of the company’s house-building sites already actively using the service.
John Adams, Barratt Redrow’s Group Procurement Director, said: “In a short space of time, some of our biggest building materials suppliers have moved to using The Pallet LOOP’s circular economy pallets. This is great news for our business and for other housebuilding companies nationwide. “The Pallet LOOP solves multiple issues for our business—providing a standardised range of strong, re-usable pallets, and consolidating pallet returns via one easy-to-use system. This is helping us reduce waste and cut carbon, while also enhancing efÏciencies across our operations.”
