What made YELLOWSANDS stand out as Roof of the Year 2023?
Challenges which were overcome included creating mitred hip details with fishtail soakers, swept lead ridge detail using code 6 lead sheet and back-bedded clay ridge tiles.
Spread over three stages due to the carpentry work also required, the contractor worked under a temporary roof structure, to ensure that this exceptional project was completed in time.
NFRC’s Head of Technical and Training, Bob Richardson, commented: “In renovating this incredibly unique and intricate roof, the judges were unanimous that the contractor showed exceptional workmanship, and details on this project were outstanding.“
