Cornwall’s LAUNCESTON COLLEGE was going through a major development to meet the increasing demand for places in the local area, as well as to improve its infrastructure and facilities for current students.
This included the construction of a new three-storey purpose-built Science and Technology block involving a main flat roof area, two secondary flat roofs and a canopy roof. The contractor faced several challenges throughout the project, including calculating wind loads, designing a tapered insulation scheme that didn’t restrict the access doors, working on a live site and managing deliveries.
The attention to detail on the completed BMI Icopal roof areas stood out.
