When Portsmouth Football Club’s stadium at Fratton Park was up for redevelopment, by far the best choice for its iconic roof structure was Euroclad’s Trapezoidal roof product.
Work began on the club’s south stand, which was covered with a total of 2,300 m2 manufactured in Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra Sargasso to follow the club’s strong, well-established colour.
A huge benefit of the Trapezoidal roofing profile is that it allows simple coverage of a large amount of space due to its simple installation method. Roof profiles such as Trapezoidal are a perfect solution for an installation of this kind, where the stadium’s architectural design is long and narrow, incorporating a greater pitch. With the Trapezoidal roof engineered and manufactured to fit a roof with a pitch of greater than five degrees, specification is enabled on a variety of projects that challenge the idea of traditional roofing and enhance architectural design, as well as delivering a proven high level of performance.
Euroclad Group supply a range of solutions to fit any application, supported by over 35 years of expertise. And with a focus on roof solutions, Euroclad products can accommodate any pitch.
Because the first phase of the redevelopment at Fratton Park was so successful Euroclad have also been involved in the second—with the Trapezoidal roof being installed on the north stand during the summer of 2020.
