HIGH-PERFORMING ROOF FOR LEISURE FACILITY
St Sidwell’s Point Leisure Centre was the first Passivhaus leisure facility in the UK. Consisting of aluminium standingseam roofing and three different types of rainscreen cladding fixed back to three different backing substrates, this project had two key areas of complexity.
The first and most visually obvious was the base geometry of the project, with almost all elevations and roofs being sloped, tapered, curved or spiralled which required an enhanced level of accuracy. The second element was the hidden complexity of the Passivhaus requirement.
