This large 250-year old industrial building was originally used for the railways as an engineering shed. It has an external convex curbed roof and an internal concave roof.
The scope of this project included re-roofing the external roof slopes in new Welsh slates and new Spanish slates to the inner slope.
The nature of the slopes meant that close to 50,000 slates had to be cut individually to fit their locations and to maintain a sound bond around the whole roof area and up the slopes.
