DLS is the UK’s national synchrotron situated in Didcot, Oxfordshire. It is on of the most advanced scientific facilities in the world.
Its unique ring-like appearance is shaped this way to house the mind-boggling technology inside. Due to the continual movement of the building, the previous roof system had failed. Consequently, a new standing-seam roof along with over 6,000 PV panels and the required walkways and safety systems was installed.
The solar PV system should generate 2.27 GWh of electricity per year.
