SIKA’s Roofing Division is committed to building a qualified, safety-focused workforce through comprehensive training and development. At every level—global, regional, and local—Sika fosters a culture of growth, offering diverse training opportunities designed to elevate professional and personal development.

Sika, a long-standing member of NFRC, supports the roofing industry with specialised training in four key technologies: cold applied liquid, hot melt structural waterproofing, reinforced bituminous membranes, and
single-ply.

Installer courses span one to four days, with optional assessments for qualification, held at innovative centres in Welwyn Garden City and Preston. The Sika Knowledge Centre, an intuitive eLearning platform, also allows
roofing contractors to stay informed on industry developments and regulations. Sika also partners with other leading associations like Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) and Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association (LRWA), enhancing its training programmes through initiatives such as the Specialist Applied Skills Programme (SAP).

The company’s dedication was nationally recognised when Training Manager Paul Mahon received a Special Recognition award from LRWA in 2024, having trained over 7,700 individuals since 2008. Training quality is reinforced through the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB)- approved courses, eligible for full funding.

Sika also collaborates with the NOCN Group to deliver Level 2 and 3 NVQs, guiding contractors through the funding process Safety remains a cornerstone of Sika’s approach. The company ensures all staĪ working at height complete RoSPA-approved training and maintains Ladder Association membership to promote best practices in ladder safety. safe, and industry-ready roofing professionals
