Harrowden will move into a new depot in Broxburn on November 7th, heralding a new era for Britain’s number one turf, wildflower and sedum grower.
The new depot location is: 14 Dunnet Way, East Mains Industrial Estate, Broxburn, EH52 5NN.
Tony Clapcott, Harrowden’s Depots Manager welcomed the move:
“We're still in Edinburgh and we still have great turf, Meadowmat Wildflower Turf, Enviromat sedum, topsoil and so much more. Harrowden is known as a turf grower but in the last few years we have diversified into wildflowers, sedum, tools and topsoil. In 2024 we became a Kress distributor so we can even advise on battery electric tools and arrange demonstrations.
"This new location will allow us to stay close to our customers and be more visible to related trades. We’re closer to Winchburgh, Livingstone and Broxburn all of which are growing. The site also enjoys good connectivity and it should give us good local visibility and accessibility.
"We can design our own space; we hope to have a living roof on our new office as well as various raised beds to promote our products around the perimeter. Not a bigger space, but definitely a better space.”
The development of the new site matches the development that has happened across the business beginning with the development of Meadowmat wildflower turf, progressing through sedum and green roof applications and culminating recently with the adoption of turf harvesting technology from the United States.
The new depot will be open to the public and trade customers and to get things underway there will be coffee and bacon rolls for the first customers on Thursday November 7th.
