SMART DESIGN DETAILING ACHIEVED BY EXPERIENCED INSTALLERS

VALLEY DRIVE is part of Gravesham Council’s affordable homes project. A crisp, straight, and neat transition was required to give the roof the sheet metal effect proposed in the design. This was achieved by drawing on the installer’s knowledge and experience of the Protan membrane system.

The main challenge was ensuring the roof was properly vented. This led to designing a vented detail that could be used in a single-ply system which would ventilate the ridges, eaves, and valleys of the pitched roof areas. A template was fabricated by the contractor to ensure uniformity. This produced a seamless, even, and straight finish to the ridges, eaves, and valleys, demonstrative of excellent workmanship by the contractor’s installation team.
